Our story

JH&A Advisory is becoming very well known in business in Lebanon and Nigeria. Since our launch in 2014, our way of working has supported all of us in taking responsibility, making the most of our opportunities and acting with integrity.

We play an important role in the capital markets, and we work to strengthen trust and understanding between companies, investors, government and the public. We also strive to provide our partners and employees with great career opportunities.

Beyond valuations, feasibility studies, due diligence and M&A support, our focus on global industries gives our people a rich understanding of clients' businesses, together with the insight, skills and resources to address industry-specific issues and opportunities.

2014

JH&A Advisory launched

Advisory services for organisations in Lebanon and the wider region.

2019

Nigeria operations launched

Opened in June 2019 to meet the demand of current and potential capital markets across Nigeria.

Johnny Haykal, CFA

Founder and Managing Partner

Read biography

Johnny has over 20 years of corporate finance and transaction services experience, having worked on a vast number of assignments in the banking, public, retail, manufacturing and hospitality industries.

He currently heads and advises the financial planning and cost control functions for a group of companies operating in Central Africa, and previously managed the Financial Advisory Services department at KPMG Lebanon for 8 years.

Selected experience

  • Performed feasibility and valuation assignments across several industries, including leading the valuation of an insurance company in Lebanon
  • Led a due diligence project from the Riyadh office on a real estate company
  • Managed, within a team, M&A transactions in the retail and grocery sector with a deal closing worth more than USD 20 million
  • Valued a multi-billion real estate company with projects in the UAE, KSA, Egypt and Lebanon
  • Prepared a feasibility study for a multi-purpose residential complex including a hotel, resort and villas in Lebanon
  • Performed the annual valuation for Arab Bank over six years to estimate Saudi Oger's share on its books
  • Prepared feasibility studies for more than 5 commercial banks, an investment bank and brokerage firms seeking licences from BDL and to open branches in Lebanon

Bassam has over 20 years of experience in investment banking and financial advisory services across the MENA and GCC regions.

He was head of investment banking at Audi Capital, where he advised on M&A transactions in the food retail, contracting, industrial manufacturing and financial services sectors, as well as debt arranging and debt restructuring deals in F&B and mining and construction materials.

Bassam is also a consultant to one of the most successful fine-dining and casual-dining operators in KSA and the GCC. Before Audi Capital, he worked for KPMG in Beirut.
